Hell has frozen over

When we first got married, Nate swore that we would never be a mini-van family. Newly married and no kids, we were driving a hot red Toyota Celica. Then as kids started coming, we progressed into the SUV stage and have been there for the past 7 years. Now with baby #4, Nate decided that it was time to get a mini van. I started laughing, but he was serious. He said that it was time that we had easier access for the kids. Totally makes sense, but still was not the Nate that I know. I only had two criteria:
  1. It had to have a powerful engine because I am a lead-foot.
  2. Both doors had to open automatically with the push of a button
    for the ease of carpooling.
Well, our fabulous car salesman neighbor found us one. It's a good thing, because our registration on the Explorer has been expired for one year. (I did get pulled over right before the baby was born and was somehow let off with a smile. I don't know if I would be as lucky next time.) So, as of this evening, our garage now houses a mercury-colored mini van.

In other fabulous news, Jill gave me this absolutely adorable monogrammed towel for Mason. So cute! I love the ribbon, too. Thank you so much, Jill!

LOVE the title of this post! As soon as I saw it, I had to immediately jump to your blog to see what had happened.

I have to say, I absolutely love having a mini-van. I sure wish I had the automatic sliding doors, though. So what kind did you get?

How funny- Linc and I swear we are not going to get one so we shall see. Love the title as well :)

Glad you got the sliding doors! You so deserve the ease of that.

It's a 2005 Chrysler Town & Country. Oh...and the trunk opens and closes automatically, too. How about that? Oh, the ease now of putting in the groceries!

I love the title too! Congrats on the minivan. I'm sure most people who swear they'll never have one don't have loads of kids yet, it just makes sense once you're knee-deep in kids. Who wouldn't want a car that opens the doors by itself? Good for you Jana, anything that makes your life easier is a great thing!

That is seriously funny. I had those same words come out of my mouth a few years ago! NEVER WILL I DRIVE A MINIVAN. Well, we bought ours a few months after I found out I was pregnant with #4. I will be honest I LOVE IT and wished I would have upgraded to the automatic sliding doors, but at the time an extra thousand dollars wasn't worth it. I was just thrilled to have a button on my key chain that would unlock the door (I had never had that feature before) Congrats on the new car!!

Congratulations on biting the bullet and buying a Minivan. I understand that they're not the coolest of cars, but they are so practical and convenient for families with more than two kids. I hope you love it!

You know, I have a Honda Odyssey, and I absolutely LOVE it! It is such a huge help to have the power sliding doors, and all at the push of a button on my little keypad. I think that was my one requirement, keyless entry, that and a cd player. :) You will learn to love it! Enjoy!

So funny, that would be the title of my post too if we got a mini van, we lovingly call the "weenie vans" at our house. I hope you love it like everyone else I know who has one does!
