A Fun Birthday

We finally celebrated Max's 7th birthday a few weeks late. I've been so tired that the thought of 20 kids at the house seemed a bit overwhelming. And the idea of not having a party this year was just not an option. Max is my child who just loves birthday parties -- he dreams about them and talks about them several months in advance.

I've never done this before, but we kind of went the easy route this year for his party and went to a place called Backyard Adventures. I don't think that it was worth the amount of money that it cost me, but I really hope that the kids had a fun time.

Do you remember when I told you about the cake decorating that I "won" at a Relief Society Enrichment? Well...here it is. I had this lady make a Star Wars cake for Max. I don't know if this picture does it justice, but she really did such a cute job. She even used a little Spanish Moss for the twiggy hair. Max loved it.

Max is a really neat little boy. I can't believe that I have a 7-year-old. He grew up so fast. Max is:
  1. a very good eater -- my only one!
  2. very intelligent
  3. a fantastic piano player (he has a little metronome in his head. His counting is unbelievable)
  4. very imaginative. He has always had the ability to build and play by himself if needed.
  5. a good artist. He loves to draw and color.
  6. very quick at figuring out things like computer and XBox games (although these are not my favorite things so he doesn't get a lot of time with them)
  7. a very good friend.
Happy 7th Birthday, Max! I love you!!!

Wow, you were brave to have so many kids at Max's birthday party, but so smart not to have them all in your house. I know my kids had a great time and thought the Yoda cake was the coolest thing ever.

Looks like fun! Not having to clean up was worth every penny you paid!

I can't believe Max is 7! I remember his first birthday! I remember going to your house to visit you after you had him, before we even knew each other very well. How time flies. I'm sure the kids had fun. And way to go for opting to let somebody else do the party for you. The last thing you need when you're so tired is to worry about a birthday party!

Sounds like he had a blast. I love the cake- how great that you didn't have to come up with something!

Why would you even consider having 20 kids for a birthday party?! There's where you went wrong right there. I only invite 5 or 6 and then it's manageable for me. I love it when we have parties at a different location -- so easy! By the way, you look so adorably pregnant in that photo.

That cake is darling. An extra bonus to win something from the R.S.

I ditto Michelle on the picture. You look great. I wish I looked that good when I was pregnant!
